Wednesday is a particularly cruel day of the week. Monday is awful, Tuesday is tolerable, but by Wednesday, we're running on fumes and whatever caffeine is left in our bloodstream. Our brains have approximately one functioning cell left, and even that's threatening to clock out early. No wonder we relate so much to orange cats!
Meanwhile, our feline friends are lounging around the house without a single responsibility in sight. They don't need coffee to get through their busy schedules of napping, eating, and staring at walls. They simply wake up whenever they please, stretch their little paws, and decide whether today is worth getting out of bed for. Must be nice!
We're starting to think cats have the right idea about purrductivity. Imagine being able to take a three-hour nap in the middle of the workday without anyone questioning your commitment. Better yet, imagine getting praised for it! Our cats can sleep for sixteen hours and still have everyone calling them hardworking little angels. We close our eyes at our desks for five minutes, and suddenly HR wants a word.
Of course, cats have their own mysterious energy sources. A kitty can spend an entire afternoon looking like a deflated loaf of bread, only to launch into a full-speed sprint across the living room at 3 a.m. No espresso, no energy drinks, just pure feline chaos. We'd love to know where they get that kind of motivation, because our fourth coffee isn't cutting it.
Until scientists figure out how to bottle kitten zoomies, we'll have to stick with our usual survival methods. A little caffeine, a few snacks, and plenty of ridiculous cat antics should help us make it through the afternoon without falling asleep on our keyboards.
So raise your coffee mugs, fellow cat lovers! We've survived half the week, and that deserves a celebration, even if we're too tired to do anything about it.
Here's to making it through Wednesday one cup of coffee and one purrfectly ridiculous cat meme at a time!
