From a chilling Friday the 13th prequel to other new titles, here are this week’s Peacock releases.
Setting the tone for Halloween on October 15 is Crystal Lake, a Peacock Original dropping all 8 episodes at once. The visually striking prequel from Peacock and A24 stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, the heartbroken mother of Jason Voorhees. The series is set a year after Jason’s drowning at Camp Crystal Lake. It traces Pam’s violent, emotional spiral while offering a fresh take on the legendary mother-and-son’s backstory.
Meanwhile, Peacock releases bring the comedy this week with Drive-Away Dolls, arriving on October 12. The 2024 action-comedy kicks off in 1999 Philadelphia, where a courier named Santos, played by Pedro Pascal, is killed over a mysterious briefcase. At the same time, carefree Jamie, brought to life by Margaret Qualley, is dealing with a breakup.
She was just dumped by her girlfriend, Sukie, a police officer embodied by Beanie Feldstein. Needing a change of scenery, she tags along with her uptight best friend Marian, starring Geraldine Viswanathan, for a spontaneous road trip to Tallahassee, Florida.
For reality fans, The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 11 also premieres the same day. Also hitting Peacock on October 12 is Juego de Villanos, making its highly anticipated Season 1 premiere. Additionally, on October 13, Below Deck returns with its Season 13 premiere, bringing more high-seas drama and luxury charter chaos to Peacock.
