Manchester City’s Enzo Maresca, has claimed that Manchester United won a Derby game against them three years with an offside goal.
Maresca was reacting to Pro Ref admitting that Erling Haaland’s winner against United last Sunday shouldn’t have stood.
Haaland’s goal was initially disallowed for offside on the pitch before VAR overturned the decision.
The VAR officials deemed that Haaland was played onside by United defender Patrick Dorgu.
However, Man City’s Enzo Fernandez was in an offside position as he attempted to play the ball before it reached Haaland.
Pro Ref has since contacted United and apologised for the decision.
But Maresca has claimed they are yet to receive an apology for a goal Bruno Fernandes scored against City a few seasons ago.
“Three years ago we lost the Derby at Old Trafford with a goal that had to be disallowed. No one apologised. We are still waiting for the apology,” Maresca said.
“Sometimes it happens for you, sometimes against you. It’s football.”
