Manchester City have gone top of the Premier League following their 4-1 thrashing of Crystal Palace on Friday night.

Enzo Maresca’s side began the campaign with a narrow 2-1 win over Bournemouth at the Etihad.

But City pulled off a more convincing victory at Selhurst Park in their second match.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring with a brilliant header, before Rayan Cherki doubled their advantage early in the second half.

Although Yeremy Pino pulled one back with a stunning free-kick, Cherki restored City’s two-goal lead with a fine finish.

There was enough time for Haaland to also get a brace, as he scored his first goals of the new season.
