Event Coverage:

BaT staff returned to the UK to join our Local Partners Sports Purpose and Chase Classics at the October Bicester Scramble hosted at Bicester Motion. The event draws thousands of attendees to explore the historic grounds and visit the many vendors that open their doors for the occasion.

BaT, Sports Purpose, and Chase Classics took over Hangar 113, which once housed twin-engine Bristol Blenheim bombers in World War II. Fittingly, the event included a flyover by the last airworthy Blenheim. The bomber and its escorts then landed and taxied to a stop just outside BaT’s headquarters for the day.

Sports Purpose and Chase Classics brought several of their cars that were live on the site, highlighted by a low-mileage Boxster and a one-owner Ferrari 328. A rare-to-see Twingo also was a fan favorite, as was the alumnus Clio 182 Trophy that was in attendance. The Clio was flanked by the 599 HGTE and Speedster that also sold on the site, highlighting the breadth of offerings for the UK market.

Centering the display was a diverse lineup of center- and single-seaters, including a very rare Lancia D50 grand prix car, a reimagined Lotus Elise single-seater, a Light Car Company Rocket, and the Lanzante 95-59, an homage to the McLaren F1 that won Le Mans in 1995.

Attendees stopped by to meet the BaT team, enjoy refreshments, explore the website, and take a break while surrounded by remarkable machinery. Visitors posed for pictures with their pets, children, and friends. In at least one case, a fan jumped for joy upon finally coming face-to-face with a hero car.

Throughout the venue, celebrities both human and vehicular mingled with fans, who had the opportunity not only to admire the displays but also to peek inside the workshops. From prewar Bentleys and Bugattis to scale versions of those same cars being built on-site, there was something for everyone, and smiles were everywhere.

Thank you to all the UK fans who met us for the first time or stopped by to say hello again. You gave us a warm welcome, and we’ll be back!

Original Post:

We’re heading back to the Bicester Scramble for the second time this year, and this time, we’ll be taking over Hangar 113 in partnership with our UK Local Partners Sports Purpose and Chase Classics! The Scramble is a can’t-miss semi-annual event that draws as many as 7,000+ spectators for the single-day happening. October’s edition will be held on Sunday, 4 October, and we’ll be there in the big hangar from 9:00am to 4:00pm with a display of cool single-seaters (among other things) and light refreshments.

Tickets for the final Scramble of 2026 are sold out, but if you’ll be attending, please come by and say hello. It will be a great opportunity to chat and talk shop with senior BaT staffers and see what we’ve been up to in the UK! Light bites and coffee will be available from the Airstream kitchen we’ll have on premises.

We’ll have a dizzying array of cool cars on view inside and out. Headlining the display will be the aforementioned single-seaters and other cars that celebrate the common ground BaT has found among automotive enthusiasts on both sides of the Atlantic. We’ll also feature several cars presently (or soon to be) up for auction on BaT, alongside a UK Alumni display.

Our first Bicester Scramble back in April was a blast—we met longtime BaT users, introduced ourselves to new petrolheads, and ogled the array of cars us Yanks never got on this side of the Atlantic.

From the organizer, Bicester Motion:

After celebrating the creation of RAF Bicester at the Scramble in April, the final Scramble of 2026 will mark half a century since the Royal Air Force Bicester closed its doors in February 1976.

It was also a stellar year for cars and ’bikes – James Hunt and Barry Sheene would end the year as world champions, and the Mercedes-Benz W123, BMW 6-Series, Lotus Esprit, Rover SD1 and Porsche 924 all hit the market. All will be celebrated on the Orchard Lawn at the heart of the venue.

Family entertainment will be provided by The Little Top, with more hands-on activities courtesy of the ever-popular Mini Landers and more.

October’s Scramble is cooking up to be a great time! If you live in or are planning to be in the UK, be sure to check the Bicester Motion Calendar for the next event.
