It’s been a huge year for Apple, with a wave of new products arriving during the first nine months of 2026. The year began with the MacBook Neo and iPhone 17e in March, followed by the new Mac mini and Mac Studio in August.
September brought another major batch of launches at Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event, including the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.
Apple has also released its major 2026 operating-system updates, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27, alongside updates for the Apple Watch, Apple TV and Vision Pro. That means many of Apple’s biggest launches are already behind us, but the year may not be finished yet.
There is still plenty on Apple’s roadmap, including new iPads, smart-home hardware and potentially Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro, while smart glasses and other products could follow in early 2027. Here’s everything Apple has launched in 2026 so far—and what we expect to come next.
Apple’s roadmap: At a glanceAs of September 1, 2026, Apple’s roadmap has come under the direction of CEO John Ternus. Former CEO Tim Cook has moved into the executive chairman role. The shift from an operations-focused leader to one with deep hardware engineering roots could signal a more product-driven approach – and a renewed emphasis on standout hardware. Ternus took over as CEO just as Apple is preparing a major Siri overhaul, alongside potential launches including its first touchscreen MacBook.

Every New Apple Product Launching in 2026In the sections below we’ve split the upcoming new products into categories including Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Home, AirPods, and some new product categories.
Apple Intelligence and Siri updates still coming in 2026Apple released iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and its other major software updates in September, bringing the new Siri AI experience, expanded Apple Intelligence features, parental controls and a range of improvements across Apple’s apps and operating systems.
But Apple’s 2026 software rollout isn’t finished. Siri AI is still being rolled out to eligible users, with access depending on device, language and region, and Apple has already begun testing the updates that will follow the initial iOS 27 and macOS 27 releases.
Siri and Apple Intelligence
Siri AI arrived with iOS 27 as a substantially redesigned version of Apple’s voice assistant, with improved conversational abilities, personal-context awareness, onscreen awareness and the ability to carry out more actions across apps. However, not every Apple device can run the new features, and some users may still need to join a waiting list before gaining access.
Apple is also expanding Siri AI beyond its initial English-language launch. Additional language support is due during the remainder of 2026, while regional restrictions mean some Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features remain unavailable in parts of the world.
Upcoming iOS 27 and macOS updates
iOS 27 itself is already available, but Apple is continuing development through iOS 27.x updates. These releases are expected to deliver additional features, refinements and bug fixes throughout the remainder of 2026, with Apple’s beta program providing an early indication of what is coming next.

Don’t expect major redesigns for the iPads this year. Instead, Apple is likely to focus on faster chips and other internal upgrades. That said, both the iPad and iPad mini are due for an update – particularly the entry-level iPad, which currently lacks support for Apple Intelligence. Here’s what we expect Apple to announce:
iPad mini
- Expected: Late 2026 or early 2027
The next iPad mini could be one of Apple’s biggest remaining upgrades of the year. Multiple reports point to Apple replacing the current 8.3-inch LCD with an OLED display, potentially increasing the screen size slightly to around 8.5 inches while keeping the overall dimensions much the same. Samsung Display is also reported to have begun mass-producing OLED panels for the new model, suggesting the launch is getting closer.
The processor is less certain. Earlier references found in Apple code pointed to the A19 Pro, but a more recent report based on additional Apple code suggests the iPad mini could instead get the newer A20 Pro used in the iPhone 18 Pro. An A18 Pro has also previously been suggested, so I wouldn’t state the chip as settled yet.
Other upgrades could include Apple’s N1 networking chip, bringing Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, while cellular models are expected to adopt Apple’s C1X modem. Apple may also move the front camera to the landscape edge, bringing the iPad mini into line with the rest of the current iPad range.
Apple is also reportedly working on a more water-resistant design. Bloomberg has reported that this could involve a new vibration-based speaker system that would allow Apple to eliminate conventional speaker holes and improve sealing. The launch is currently expected in late 2026 or early 2027, although recent code leaks have raised the possibility that it could arrive sooner. Read our round up of iPad mini rumors.
iPad
- Late 2026 update possible
When the standard iPad was updated in March 11, 2025, the biggest disappointment was that it featured a A16 chip and therefore didn’t support Apple Intelligence. Apple looks set to rectify that in 2026 with an upgrade to the A18 or A19 chip, with the latter offering 50% better performance. The release timeline for an iPad with an A18 or A19 chip is anticipated before the end of 2026, in fact, Apple code suggests the company may be planning an update sooner-rather-than-later.

Which new Macs are coming in 2026/2027?2026 is expected to be a significant year for the Mac, with Apple’s first touchscreen Mac rumored as part of a MacBook Pro redesign. March 3 saw the launch of the M5 MacBook Air and M5 Pro/M5 Max MacBook Pro and March 4 saw Apple introduce a new entry-level laptop – the $599 MacBook Neo.
The long expected Mac Studio and Mac mini updates came in August 2026 and went on sale September 22, although some high-memory Mac Studio configurations won’t arrive until later. These Macs have become popular for running AI models locally; however, global RAM shortages – driven by AI companies purchasing large amounts of memory for data centres – have been having a knock-on effect on availability during 2026 and these RAM shortages have also had an effect on prices, with Mac prices increasing by $300 to $500 in June and in the case of the Mac mini, by a further $100 with the 2026 launch.
One Mac that won’t be getting an update is the long-neglected Mac Pro. Apple has confirmed that the Mac Pro will be discontinued in favor of the Mac Studio.
Touchscreen MacBook Pro
- Late 2026/early 2027

There are rumors that the MacBook Pro will get a redesign including notch-free OLED touchscreen, potential 5G connectivity and a thinner body. At one point it was expected that this new MacBook Pro would feature M6 Pro and Max chips, but the latest indications are that Apple will use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips instead in an effort to keep the project on schedule.

iMac
- Unlikely 2026 update
The current M4 iMac was released in October 2024, so an M5 update might seem timely and could be released alongside other potential M5 Mac updates.
The current iMac design was introduced in 2021 and is not expected to change soon. It is still considered fresh, and its components are not outdated. However, there are calls for Apple to introduce a larger screened iMac, something that has been missed since Apple discontinued the 27-inch model. Many feel that the 24-inch screen is too small. According to a brief update in Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg in August, Apple is aiming to launch camera-equipped AirPods.
The new earbuds are expected to resemble the upcoming AirPods Pro 3, although it’s not yet clear whether they will also include a heart rate sensor.
The cameras are said to include both visible-light and infrared sensors, but they reportedly won’t be designed for taking photos or recording video, as their placement and image quality would make them unsuitable for those tasks. Instead, the cameras are expected to enable AI-powered features, such as hand gesture recognition, adapting audio based on the surrounding environment, and detecting whether someone is speaking directly to you or simply talking nearby.
Apple smart home products coming in 2026Apple appears to be preparing a major expansion of its smart-home lineup , with several new devices reportedly close to launch. The products are expected to make much greater use of Siri AI, which current HomePod and Apple TV hardware lacks the processing power to support fully.
HomePod mini 2
- Late 2026

The HomePod mini is finally expected to get its first major hardware update since the original model launched in 2020. The biggest change is likely to be a more powerful processor capable of supporting Apple’s new Siri AI features.
Recent references found in Apple code also point to updated colors, with black, blue, green, pink and white apparently replacing the current selection. Previous reports have also suggested upgraded wireless hardware, potentially including Apple’s own networking chip and newer Ultra Wideband technology.
Reports suggest the new HomePod mini could arrive before the end of 2026.
HomePad smart home hub
- Late 2026 or early 2027
Apple is also reportedly preparing an entirely new smart-home device, often referred to as the HomePad. It is expected to feature a roughly 7-inch square display and act as a central controller for HomeKit accessories, while also supporting FaceTime calls, music, widgets and Siri AI.
Reports suggest Apple has developed both wall-mounted and speaker-base versions. The interface could combine elements of watchOS and tvOS, with glanceable widgets and controls designed specifically for use around the home.

HomePod with a display
- Expected: 2027 or later
Apple has also been linked with a more advanced HomePod featuring a built-in display. This is sometimes referred to in reports as the HomePod Touch, although that is not an official Apple name.
Unlike the HomePad, which would primarily function as a standalone smart-home hub, this device is expected to combine a traditional HomePod speaker with a touchscreen display. Reports have also described more ambitious versions with a display mounted on a robotic arm, although those appear to be further away.
Because several different prototypes and form factors have been reported, it is possible that some of these rumors refer to different generations of the same broader product rather than several separate devices.
Apple TV
- Expected: Late 2026
A new Apple TV is expected with a faster processor capable of supporting Siri AI and upgraded wireless connectivity. Apple’s OS code has already included Apple Intelligence frameworks for future Apple TV and HomePod hardware, suggesting the next models will have significantly more capable chips than the current generation. Based on current industry analysis and supply chain information, Apple has some significant changes planned for the iPhone in 2027, with an 20th anniversary iPhone rumored as well as the iPhone 18, 18e and iPhone Air 2.
iPhone 18 & iPhone 18e
- Spring 2027 launch expected
Reports suggest that Apple could delay the iPhone 18 and release that handset alongside the iPhone 18e in the spring of 2027.
iPhone Air 2

Should you buy now or wait?
With the iPhone 18 launch not expected until the spring, now is a good time to buy an iPhone 17. Read: When is the best time to buy an iPhone.
However, prices have already risen across the board, so it is no longer possible to beat the price hikes unless you find a refurbished iPhone.
Upcoming Vision devices, AR and spatial computingApple Smart Glasses
- Possible 2026 introduction, 2027 launch
Unlike the bulky Vision Pro headset, the upcoming smart glasses from Apple are expected to follow a form factor similar to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. This will be Apple’s first product built specifically for “Visual Intelligence.” It will likely handle tasks such as live translations, music playback, phone calls, and turn-by-turn directions. Apple could provide a first glimpse or “preview” of the glasses by the end of 2026.
Vision Pro
- Possible 2027 update
Prior to 2026, Apple’s spatial computing strategy has focused on the high-end market, but reports indicate a more affordable version of the headset is in development. Apple has reportedly paused work on a successor to the high-end Vision Pro and will instead release a cheaper Vision Pro.

Here’s a quick look at what Apple released in 2025:
- February 2025: iPhone 16E – the replacement for the iPhone SE and iPhone 14 brought Apple Intelligence support to the entry-level iPhone.
- March 2025: iPad Air M3 and A16 iPad launched on March 4 and MacBook Air M4 and M4 Max Mac Studio on March 5.
- September 2025: Apple introduced four new iPhones: iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Mac, and the iPhone Air. We also saw the new AirPods Pro 3 and three new Apple Watches: the Series 11, Ultra 3 and SE 3.
- October 2025: Apple announced a new M5 processor and released the M5 MacBook Pro, M5 iPad Pro, and a update to the Vision Pro, featuring the new chip.
