This 1991 Lola T91/00 is one of 38 examples produced, and it was supplied to Newman/Haas Racing for use during the 1991 CART Indy Car season. Chassis HU04 is a non-running project that was driven by Mario Andretti during practice sessions for the 75th Indianapolis 500. It was also campaigned by Michael Andretti during the CART PPG Indy Car World Series, and he won multiple races in this car, including the non-championship Marlboro Challenge, on his way to capturing that year’s driver’s championship. It later spent time in the collection of Newman/Haas crew member Bud Hoffpauir before it was purchased by the seller, a partner at Andretti Global, in 2022, and underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2026. The carbon-fiber and aluminum bodywork is finished in a white and black #2 Texaco/Havoline/Kmart livery, and it retains a turbocharged Ilmor-Chevrolet 2.65L V8 mated to a Lola-Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox. Equipment includes double-wishbone suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ Lola center-lock wheels with Goodyear racing slicks, front and rear wings, a roll hoop, a fixed carbon-fiber seat, a MOMO steering wheel, and Stack instrumentation. The seller recommends rebuilds of the engine and transmission, and notes that the ECU and turbo blow-off valve components are missing. This ex-Andretti T91/00 is now offered in Virginia with racing records, refurbishment photos, and a bill of sale.

The T91/00 won 15 of the 17 contests during the 1991 CART Indy Car season, including the non-championship Marlboro Challenge at Laguna Seca. Eight of those were won outright by Michael Andretti, who bested Bobby Rahal in the final race of the season at Laguna Seca to win the year’s driver’s championship. The car finished third with Mario at the wheel at the 1991 Miller Genuine Draft 200, where son Michael and nephew John, both driving T91/00s, finished first and second, respectively.

The Lola T91/00 features a carbon-fiber and Kevlar honeycomb composite monocoque. The bodywork on this example received repairs under the seller’s ownership before it was repainted in white and black and fitted with replica #2 Texaco/Havoline/Kmart livery that was sourced from Newman/Haas and installed by the graphics shop at Andretti Global in Indianapolis. A replacement windscreen was also installed during the refurbishment, and additional equipment includes front and rear wings, side-view mirrors, and a roll hoop.

The Lola center-lock wheels were refinished in black during the refurbishment, and they are mounted with 23.0×10.5–15″ front and 27.0×14.0-15″ rear Goodyear Eagle yellow-letter racing slicks. The suspension was also overhauled during the refurbishment, and it is comprised of double wishbones and a pushrod damper arrangement. The braking system features discs at all four corners.

Exposed carbon fiber is visible inside the cockpit, which features a black-padded seat and a Willans harness. The seller notes that the right-hand shifter is a replacement unit.

The quick-release MOMO steering wheel is trimmed in microsuede and sits ahead of a 10k-rpm Stack tachometer and an LCD information screen. The car is not equipped with a speedometer or odometer, and total mileage is unknown.

The turbocharged Ilmor-Chevrolet 2.65L V8 does not run, and the seller notes that the ECU and turbo blow-off valve components are missing.

The Lola-Hewland six-speed sequential gearbox was disassembled in 2026, and photos taken during the service are presented in the gallery.
