Greek studio ECLÉDE designs a 425-square-meter residence located between Lycabettus Hill and Kolonaki. Named Boomerang Athens, this is the first single-family home in Greece to achieve LEED Platinum certification under LEED v4.1 BD+C, the world’s most widely recognized green building rating system, providing a global framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-effective architecture. Designed as a climate-responsive urban home, the project unifies architecture, engineering, smart automation, and material restraint into a cohesive concept. Central to its environmental design, a rhythmic vertical screen controls solar exposure and privacy while filtering shifting shadow patterns indoors. Integrated planting zones weave greenery across this exterior shell, complementing ground-level solar panels that supply clean electricity.

AN INVISIBLE INFRASTRUCTURE OF COMFORT
Designed to reduce energy demand while preserving privacy, light, and material warmth, the four-level residence functions as a continuous vertical landscape, drawing the eye upward from street level to the open sky. The layout comprises four en-suite bedrooms, open-plan living areas, a private elevator, panoramic terraces, and a rooftop pool overlooking Athens. Inside, the atmosphere relies on a tactile material discipline, where smooth marble, raw stone, warm natural timber, and bespoke joinery blend with expansive triple-glazed openings that flood the rooms with soft daylight and frame sweeping urban views.
Behind these architectural surfaces lies a technical infrastructure engineered for maximum efficiency. An advanced thermal envelope works alongside heat pumps, underfloor heating, smart ventilation, and a KNX automation system that centrally manages lighting, solar shading, and microclimate. Low-emission materials and acoustic dampening further protect indoor air quality and comfort. Through this synthesis of engineering and craft, Boomerang Athens presents a contemporary vision of Greek residential architecture grounded in durability, environmental accountability, and functional precision.
