Batman’s Batpod is coming up for auction. It is the same Batpod that came up for auction in 2016. And then again in 2023. If you feel like now’s the time to strike, third time’s a charm, right?
Speaking of strike, it’s one of just six Batpods created for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, two lightly popular films you may have heard of. This one “screen-matches” Batman’s pursuit of the Joker in The Dark Knight.

So it’s got “several distinctive marks and scratches” along its right-hand side to testify it’s the real deal. You know, of course, that it was driven by stunt driver Jean-Pierre Goy during filming, and later used for loads of promo events.

You also know—because it’s now the third time this is being made available for public consumption—the Batpod was a very uniquely styled bike powered by a Honda 750 engine sitting on a custom chassis running 31-inch Hoosier racing tires. It also featured fiberglass body panels, much to the delight of ’90s hot-hatch tuners.

The cannons weren’t real, ditto the frickin’ laser-targeting thingy. Brakes worked, thankfully, while Goy’s derriere was cushioned by black foam padding around the body, saddle, and knees.
“The vehicle remains in very good condition and is supplied with a metal support stand for display purposes,” explains auctioneer Propstore. The starting price for the auction is £225,000 (P19,007,277), but Propstore reckons it could run from £450,000 to £900,000 (P38,014,555 to P75,994,344). All this for a bike that’s been “drained of all fluids” and had its battery, fuel tank, and throttle controls all removed.
The bike you deserve, or the one you need right now?
