New details about Frozen 3‘s storyline have finally arrived. The update offers a glimpse of what fans can expect from the highly anticipated sequel.
In a recent interview with Collider, Disney Animation head Jared Bush teased that Frozen 3 has “a very special story in store for people” that will surprise all the fans.
Bush also revealed that the sequel will introduce a brand new villain. “And we have a brand-new character coming in, a new villain, into the world of Frozen, and someone who may be more powerful than Elsa,” he shared.
Frozen 3 will also bring a major milestone for Anna and Kristoff as their wedding takes center stageDiscussing how the upcoming film will fit into the overall Frozen lore, Bush revealed that “there’s not a whole lot of time between” Frozen 2 and the new film. Since the previous film ended with Kristoff proposing to Anna, the upcoming film will feature a grand wedding scene.
Bush added, “I’d say that, if you remember the end of Frozen 2, Kristoff finally proposed to Anna. This movie starts with their wedding. So, not a whole lot of time has passed between those. How much time? You’ll discover in the film.”
The Disney Animation head also teased, “I’ll say that there is a song that you hear around the wedding of Anna and Kristoff that is spectacular.”
Frozen 3 is written and directed by Jennifer Lee, who has previously helmed the first two installments of the beloved franchise. Kristen Bell will reprise her role as Anna, with Idina Menzel returning as Elsa. Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff will also return as the voices of Olaf and Kristoff, respectively.
Beyond Anna and Kristoff’s wedding, the film also follows Anna as she embarks on a new journey with her sister, Elsa, as the royal family welcomes a new member.
Frozen 3 arrives in theaters on November 24, 2027.
