A century after his death on Halloween, legendary escape artist Harry Houdini is about to pull off his greatest trick yet — coming back from the dead.

The illusionist returns in the new three-part Fox Nation series "Houdini: Back from the Dead," revived by artificial intelligence as he appears to sit down for a modern-day interview to recount the untold stories, personal struggles and death-defying feats that defined his life.

"Fox Nation is breaking new creative ground by using emerging technology to bring one of history's most fascinating figures to life for a modern audience," Lauren Petterson, president of the platform, said in a press release.

"We're proud to showcase a new form of historical storytelling that allows viewers to experience Houdini's remarkable life in his own words, while remaining rooted in extensive research and historical accuracy."

Premiering on Oct. 14 ahead of the 100th anniversary of Houdini's death, the series brings the legendary illusionist and those closest to him — including his wife Bess, mother, brother and friends — back to life through AI, allowing them to recount his career, personal relationships and most daring feats.

"I've escaped handcuffs, straightjackets, prisons, even being buried alive. But eventually one thing caught me: death. Until now," the AI-generated Houdini teases.

"The world called me the greatest escape artist who ever lived. Now, watch my last performance. On the 100th anniversary of my passing, I'll do the impossible. No stage, no locks, no hidden keys. Just me, returned from the grave to tell you my story."

To create historically accurate visuals, filmmakers drew on more than 400 historic photographs and archival footage. Actors provided the movements, mannerisms and performances of the historical figures, while AI technology transformed their appearances.

Across three episodes, viewers will learn little-known facts about the magician's life, including a childhood accident in which he was shot in the hand, a staged rivalry with his brother and his near-fatal attempt to escape from the grave.

The series pulls back the curtain on the man behind the magic, exploring his complicated marriage to Bess, his brief ambitions as a pioneering aviator and his crusade against fraudulent spiritualist mediums — a pursuit that eventually brought threats against his life.

Produced for Fox Nation by Red Rock Films, "Houdini: Back from the Dead" will mark the platform's first full-length, multi-episode production to rely entirely on AI-generated imagery.
