Heliopolis was an architecture project from 1968 - 1974. It was a ring structure with 1,2 kilometer diameter and 60 floors. This monumental building was supposed to be the olympic village, as Czechoslovakia hoped that the 1984 Olympic games could be hosted in the High Tatras (the tallest mountain range in Czechoslovakia). Despite the project not being funded, and the authors only doing it in their free time with no hope of it ever being real, they came up with a really sophisticated and precise project.
