Nobody likes a neighbor who doesn't respect the boundaries of their property, but there aren't many people who can claim that they have actually had them living on it.

There are a lot of people who seem to think that they are entitled to the space that is lived in by another person simply by virtue of being close by. They often believe that this neighbor owes them for one reason or another, or simply hope that they have enough neighborly kindness and generosity that they can continue to exploit it indefinitely, no matter what the repercussions may be for the other individual and their property. They just want to make sure that they are taken care of in a way that they see fit.

Truly, it is a blessing to move somewhere new and have neighbors that are not problematic. It is a privilege that not everybody gets, and at its worst, an intrusive neighbor can really affect somebody's ability to live peacefully in their home. It begins to feel like their house isn't fully theirs because they have to share a part of it with somebody else.

Nobody wants a part-time roommate that they didn't ask for, and what's worse is that they often aren't that easy to get rid of. Once somebody has staked a claim to a piece of yard or driveway, they usually won't back down without a fight. It is a battle that can get pretty ugly if everybody involved really commits to it.
