I built this subscription tracker as a UI/UX experiment in Jetpack Compose.
The data is mocked for now, but the app has multiple sections, navigation, subscription lists, a renewal calendar, analytics and an add flow.
I wanted to avoid the usual Material look and push Compose a bit further with:
- asymmetric layouts
- angled elements and custom shapes
- section-based colors
- oversized typography
- animated transitions
- a navigation system that doesn’t use the usual bottom bar
The idea was to keep the interactions fairly familiar, while making the visual language much less conventional.
One thing I find interesting is that unfamiliar visuals and unfamiliar interactions aren't necessarily the same thing.
Does this still feel usable, or did I push the layout too far?
