How do you guys come up with architectural concepts, the kind they teach in premium institutes? I'm studying in an architecture college that doesn't have great facilities or resources or good infrastructure. I feel like my professors don't want us to experiment at all. I actually did a one hour design marathon on my own just to see what I could come up with for a restaurant concept, and those are the photos I attached. But I genuinely feel like what I'm creating isn't my style. I don't even like it myself. It's almost like what I have in my mind never really gets onto the paper. I know it won't come out exactly like I imagine it but at least fifty percent should right?
I see portfolios of students who got into MIT RCA and other premium institutes. And honestly foreign students' portfolios their style their drawings their whole concept development is all so good. But if I try to do extreme experimentation here I know my professors will reject it. I get that site and cultural context matters a lot. But most of the time I feel like I'm stuck inside a box and that's honestly sad.
