I've read the first part of a novel which was exposed as AI (Shy Girl by Mia Ballard) and several others where I noticed tells which might or might not suggest AI. Things like something being a tapestry of whatever, or an overflow of — which doesn't fit with the otherwise modern prose. It might not be AI, but who can tell? It constantly jolts me out of the story.
I can't read that way. I can't read if I have to consistently second-guess whether it is an author or an AI speaking.
So if this is literature from now on, I think I rather not read any new books. I think I'd stick to older books, where I can at least trust that what I read has been written.
How to deal with this?
