Natasha Osawaru, the wife of Nigerian singer 2Baba, has expressed her ambition to one day lead the country as president.

The Edo state lawmaker spoke during the 92nd birthday celebration of Gabriel Igbinedion, her grandfather, in Benin City.

In a video from the ceremony that has since gone viral, Natasha poured praise on her grandfather, calling him her “baby” and describing how wonderful it feels to be in his company.

She went on to vow that she would strive to become Nigeria’s president before his time on earth comes to an end.

“I promise you, I will be the President of this country.”

“You are amazing, you are like my baby right now, I love you so much. As you age, you become sweeter and better, it is so amazing to be around you grandpa. I promise you that I will be the president of this country before you go,” she said.

The lawmaker representing the Egor constituency was recently appointed minority leader of the Edo state house of assembly, a role she said represents not a “title but a trust”.

Natasha tied the knot with 2Baba in July 2025, following the singer’s split from his wife Annie Macaulay Idibia. The couple held a dedication ceremony for their first child together in February.

Throughout the public scrutiny, 2Baba has consistently maintained that Osawaru was not the cause of his separation from Annie.
