Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), says he will spend his Sallah holidays with the Sultan of Sokoto if elected as president.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Obi criticised President Bola Tinubu for spending Sallah holidays in Lagos, saying he would instead use the occasion to bring Nigerians together in the north if elected.
“Sallah and everything, he (Tinubu) spends in Lagos. A Muslim. I will go to Sokoto and spend the Sallah with the Sultan and bring everybody together and we will discuss the future. I will go to Kano,” Obi said.
Earlier, Obi said the NDC would establish a system to transmit results from polling units to its own situation room during the 2027 general election.
He said that he did not reject an offer to serve as running mate to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the 2027 general election.
