Daniil Medvedev threatened to retire from his Shanghai Masters semi-final against Rafael Jodar after officials refused to replay the Spaniard’s previous shot. The umpire eventually agreed to show it, prompting commentators to question Medvedev’s intentions. Some suspected he was buying recovery time. Despite the heated argument, Jodar defeated Medvedev 6-3, 6-4 to reach the final.
