Having lost Maaz Sadaqat and Babar Azam inside the first four overs chasing 326 in the final, Zaman hammered 127 off just 99 deliveries, laced with 11 fours and six sixes. He changed gears after completing his fifty off 59 balls, racing to the next fifty in just 25 balls en route to his 12th ODI hundred.

The southpaw added 149 runs with Saad Baig (74) for the third wicket, and 57 more with Salman Ali Agha for the fourth. Zaman laid a perfect platform for the Pakistan middle and lower orders, with Pakistan needing 106 off 86 after his dismissal. Arafat Minhas provided the finish with a blistering 61 in 31 balls as they clinched the tri-series, also involving England.

Earlier in the match, Kamindu Mendis registered his maiden ODI century, smashing 131 off 128 deliveries but his efforts went in vain as the hosts chased down the target with nine balls to spare.
