The third T20I was reduced to 14 overs per side after rain delayed the start of proceedings. But when New Zealand were struggling at 11-2 in the third over, the heavens opened up again and the match was eventually called off. Australia had already sealed the series with wins in the first two matches.
It was yet another series where Australia dominated the White Ferns, but the opening game was anything but one-sided. Chasing 163, the hosts were well placed at 102-2 but collapsed, only to win by just two wickets in the end. Ellyse Perry was the star for them, smashing 52 runs off 30 deliveries.
In the second game, Ashleigh Gardner stepped up, scoring 84 off just 45 deliveries as Australia posted 167 runs batting first. Gardner and Georgia Wareham starred with the ball, picking up two and three wickets, respectively, as New Zealand fell 40 runs short to concede the series.
