Toronto Police are reaching out to the public to help identify a man wanted for a suspected hate-motivated assault in North York two weeks ago.
Officers responded to an assault call at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave. E. area, police said.
It was reported to cops that the suspect approached the victim, who was standing at the intersection and draped in a Palestinian flag. Then, in an unprovoked interaction, the suspect pushed the victim while making anti-immigrant comments, police allege.
The suspect then fled the area and was last seen walking southbound on Yonge St, police said.
Investigators described the suspect as about 55 to 60 years old, approximately 6-feet tall with a heavy build and clean shaven. He was wearing a grey shirt with “JUST DO IT” in writing, green shorts, a beige baseball hat, and grey running shoes.
Images of the suspect were also released by police.

Two injured in Toronto stabbing
Two people suffered serious injuries following an overnight stabbing in Toronto.
Toronto Police said, in a social media update Saturday, they received reports at around 2:20 a.m. of two people found with stab wounds in the Dufferin St. and St. Clair Ave W. area.
The victims were transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Police said between two to four suspects are wanted, but details about them are unknown at this time. The suspects fled in a dark red vehicle, cops added.
It is unknown if the incident was a targeted attack or if the victims and suspects are known to each other.
Eastbound St. Clair Ave. W. was closed from Northcliffe Blvd. and Glenholme Ave. for an investigation.

Shots fired at Markham home
Police in York Region are investigating after shots were fired at a home in Markham early Saturday.
York Regional Police said in an update on social media that the incident happened at about 2:10 a.m. in the Warden Ave. and Hwy. 7 area.
According to police, two males wearing all black clothing exited a white Honda Civic and walked up the driveway before firing multiple rounds at the residence.
There were no injuries reported to police.
Cops said residents should expect a large police presence and asked the public to avoid the area.
No further details about the incident were released by police as the investigation is ongoing.
