I was looking through Fincher’s filmography earlier and realized his last standard wide release was Gone Girl back in 2014. It’s kind of a bummer to realize it's been over a decade since he had a movie playing in regular theaters everywhere.
Since then, it's just been his Netflix projects. Even this new Cliff Booth movie isn't getting a traditional wide release, it's only getting a two-week limited IMAX run before it goes to streaming.
Considering he recently renewed his contract with Netflix, it looks like he’s going to be exclusive to streaming for the foreseeable future. Just wanted to bring it up because it’s strange that a director of his calibre has essentially been absent from standard theaters for so long, and it unfortunately doesn't seem like it's changing anytime soon.
Anyone else miss seeing his movies in a theater? I still remember seeing Panic Room in theaters.
