Its early position gives Mutiny a strong start on the digital chart despite its underwhelming performance as a theatrical release.
Jean-François Richet directed the movie, with Lindsay Michel and J. P. Davis writing the screenplay. The action thriller was released in theaters on August 21, 2026, and follows Cole Reed, a former Royal Marine commando whose employer is killed in front of him. Reed is subsequently blamed for the murder and becomes a target himself.
Determined to find out what really happened, he secretly boards a cargo ship and begins pursuing the people behind the killing. His investigation takes a dangerous turn when he comes up against a crew made up of former mercenaries. Reed soon discovers that the murder is connected to a much larger international conspiracy.
Statham leads the cast as Cole Reed, with Annabelle Wallis playing Angie Ellis and Jason Wong portraying Taran. Roland Møller stars as Captain Marko Madsen, while Arnas Fedaravicius plays Mateo Pineda and Adrian Lester takes on the role of Captain Adam Spencer.
The film has received a divided response from critics, although its audience response has been considerably stronger. Mutiny currently holds a 51 percent critics score based on 116 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, while its audience score stands at 86 percent. At the box office, Mutiny has earned approximately $26.4 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
