Welcome to Screencaps, "America's Best Daily Column," as named by the readers. Screencaps, which publishes seven-days-a-week, is a mix of sports, pop culture, and emails from sane readers from around the world. This column isn't for the coastal elites. Give us a week to steal your heart. Our track record is pretty good. Let's have some fun.

What happens when the New York Jets bring in one of the world's most beautiful Instagram models, Hannah C. Palmer, to attend a game and get the boys charged up? Nothing. The Jets lost, again, Sunday, to the Raiders after Kirk Cousins torched them with three touchdown passes.

Hannah had full access to MetLife to see the team get ready for its game. She was in the locker room trying to influence this team to play defense, play inspired ball. It was futile.

"Out of all teams the jets come on," one fan wrote on Instagram, noting how useless it is to try to will the Jets to a victory. We're talking about a franchise that hasn't had a winning record since 2015. At 2-6, they're not going to be over .500 this year.

That brings me to the next question: How does an influencer end up at a Jets game and how much does it cost to bring her in? Is she dating someone connected to the team? Most likely. There's no other explanation for any woman with over 1 million Instagram followers to be anywhere near the Jets.

Imagine my surprise last night after pulling up to Dick's for basketball shoes (yes, I know you'll never step foot inside a Dick's because they don't sell ammo; I've heard that line hundreds of times) and seeing at least 7-10 people camping out at Best Buy.

The checkout kid at Dick's said it might be for Pokémon cards. That made sense. Weird, but I get it.

NINTENDO OF AMERICA RELEASES TEASER TRAILER CONFIRMING LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME REMAKE IN 2026

Then, after getting home, I was told by Screencaps the III & Mrs. Screencaps that Nintendo is releasing a new "Legend of Zelda" game. After a little investigating, I learned that thousands of people are camping out around the country, and Toronto, to get the game like we're living in the late 1990s.

This is actually refreshing. Instead of sitting at home on the couch and hitting a couple of buttons on the Amazon app, people are using their survival skills to obtain video games like the old days.

By the way, what's up with basketball shoes these days, specifically the colors? Are high school boys wearing pink shoes? There are like five color options and 95% of the shoes are in colors that make them look like they were made for girls.

CHEAPEST COSTCO PREPARED MEAL COSTS SHOCKINGLY LITTLE PER SERVING: 'CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE'

• Nick asks: What is with your state electing a lush for Governor that locked it down during COVID, and a fossil for the Senate that was kicked to the curb 2 years ago? I'm not picking on Ohio, as other red states embarrassed themselves just the same, if not more, but I was just curious of your take.

Kinsey: Vivek was just that bad of a candidate. Unlikeable. Zero relatable skills to the common man. I'm not even sure Vivek had a ground team in battleground areas like where I live. I saw very, very few Vivek signs. There was zero energy for him. Honestly, I think people are scared of his connection to Big Data and what it would mean for their energy prices.

So many people were freaked out that they let a lush become governor.

• William R. in Reisterstown, MD writes: Have you tried the chicken tenders?

Kinsey: I've never seen a family chicken tender dinner in the deli area. William might be asking about the chicken tenders at the food court area. I've never had those either.

• Mark from NorCal writes: Your comment about no gas mowers hit home. Right now my golf club is anticipating machine costs to rise 50-100% over the next 5 years because we will have to slowly convert to EV mowers. We just bought one of the last of a certain type of gas mower that won't be delivered for 6 months and can't be sold in CA starting soon. Eventually, we will be forced to go all EV because we won't be able to get parts to maintain current fleet as the mandate is fully enforced.

What does this mean? Costs to play golf are going to continue to rise as this transition happens. Get out and play!!

There's ZERO chance LeBron plays full integrity golf. NO CHANCE. Have you seen his swing?

• Michael B. says: I checked out of college football when—1) football coaches started getting salaries up to 20 times more than their respective state governors; 2) constant instant replay interruptions--which only benefits gamblers when you boil it down--RUINED game flow; 3) conference realignments killed trad rivalries and game day experience; and 4) universities started spending more on athletics fundraising efforts than academic program fundraising. I am of the mind that universities and colleges DO NOT exist to field football teams. I hated what I was seeing, so I quit caring.

However, when I stopped caring is when the boomlet started. In-person attendance soared, TV ratings shot up, so of course revenues shot up. This reinforced to the princes and princesses in charge of athletic departments that they were on to something. So, more, newer, expensiver facilities and perks for the very few ensued. I think resentment is growing among students and casual fans at how a couple hundred people at the school and other unknown entities are getting PAID while they are going into debt for a second-rate education in crappy classrooms.

What exactly are fans getting out of the experience anymore? Rosters turn over season-to-season--fan loyalty is severely tested as a result. The regional nature of the game that made it unique (and GREAT) has been obliterated by further conference re-alignment and "national championship" playoffs have neutered regular season excitement (gotta love the Rutgers-UCLA matchup, eh?). Student tickets are pricey and every action by the people in charge proves they could not care less about the student and casual fan.

To restate, the rich and greedy are getting richer and greedier and have shown over and over they do not care about us hoi polloi. Gamblers got their interminable instant replay which has done next to nothing to rein in controversy, so they're cool. As long as we keep tuning into the broadcast and making our parlays on our phones, they're all cool with low attendance. What we are seeing at stadiums now is a feature, not a bug.

Kinsey: You're not going to get an argument out of me over the B1G going out and killing the Pac-12. That was a watershed moment. My brain wasn't ready for UCLA at Northwestern. It's even worse if you follow Olympic sports like Rutgers going to USC for a weekday volleyball game with league title implications. I have no idea if either school is good at volleyball.

But, there's no going back now. We're stuck with this.

Californians haven't captured the state - yet. On Tuesday, the voters selected their official state gun. "Excellent call by the citizens of Idaho!" Mike T. in Idaho reacted on Wednesday.

And that is it for Thursday Screencaps. For those counting, there are just THREE WEEKS until Thanksgiving. Guys, it's that time of year to get those decorations out for your wife. I'm not saying to put them up, but if you get a nice November day, it sure beats putting up this stuff on a 33 and windy day in early December.

Let's go get after it.
