The New York Jets are just days away from their regular-season opener against the Tennessee Titans, and one of the team's young offensive playmakers will be sporting a new look.
Wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., one of New York's three first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, revealed a jersey number change during a recent practice. After wearing No. 83 throughout training camp and the preseason, Cooper has switched to No. 11 ahead of Week 1.

The number carries some recent history for Jets fans.
Among the more notable players to wear No. 11 in New York were Robby Anderson — who later went by Robbie Anderson, Robbie Chosen, and Chosen Anderson — along with fan favorite Jeremy Kerley and former second-round pick Denzel Mims.
The Jets selected Cooper with the 30th overall pick after a standout collegiate career with the Indiana Hoosiers. He helped them capture a College Football Playoff national championship following the 2025 season and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors during his final year on campus.
Cooper is expected to play a significant role in the Jets offense this season, making the number change one that fans will quickly notice. Now, when the rookie wide receiver makes his regular-season debut Sunday in Nashville, he'll do so wearing one of the franchise's more recognizable receiver numbers.
