Jonathan Taylor expressed his concern that other teams would be excited to play the Indianapolis Colts as they suffered their fourth straight loss of the season.
The team went into the game on Sunday surrounded by trade talks about their star running back, Jonathan Taylor. He finished the game with 8 carries and rushed for 23 yards.
It was an elite offensive display from the Jacksonville Jaguars as they posted 28 points in the first half alone and denied the Colts any scoring chance.
Having lost their two key players, Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, through trades, the Colts did not seem to have enough firepower to compete with the Jaguars on offence and defence.
Jonathan Taylor makes worrying admission about Indianapolis ColtsThe Colts are 2-6 and in the middle of the four game losing streak. While they have traded away two key players, the team is expected to keep RB Jonathan Taylor.
However, the player has expressed a major concern about the team after their loss to the Jaguars.
“It’s not going to get any easier, it’s actually going to get even harder and teams are going to look at us foaming at the mouth. So then it comes to a point where what are you going to do? Your backs are against the wall? What are you going to do? and you know you have to fight your way out of the corner. That’s what I’m thinking about for myself but also how to convey that to the rest of the guys in the locker room that this is not going to get nowhere easier and we got to accept that; that’s just the first step,” said Taylor in the locker room.
The Colts have a few winnable games coming up, with the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and the Tennessee Titans still on their schedule. They did lose to the Titans in October, but they should have secured the win, as even with all the difficulties this season, the Colts are an overall better unit than the Titans.
If they are somehow able to keep Taylor in Indianapolis, the Colts could still record wins in these games. However, this is not something everyone is optimistic about, as he is a star RB and putting him on the trade block could get them some great future assets.
Even with a few wins, the Colts’ season looks unsalvageable. While Taylor has maintained his stance of wanting to stay, the team could make a decision and move him away to officially start their rebuild.
