MAJOR SPOILERS:

Okay, I finished the entire Mistborn series just 5 minutes ago and just wanted to pen down my thoughts. First of all, the ending of the Hero of Ages. BEAUTIFUL. The way Sazed creates the world, and the visual of Vin and Elend's bodies lying in green grass at the end made me sob. I really loved all the characters, except Tensoon and the kandra who for some reason I couldn't care less about. The koloss were far more interesting to me.

I actually didn't like the first book. Maybe because I'm not a fan of the action genre and I think the entire magic system felt too complicated and the explanations, too repetitive. Also, the only other fantasy series I've read is ASOIAF. But because I'd bought the entire expensive book set after being influenced by the internet, I decided to read the second one after months. And don't come at me, I've read it at many places that WoA is his weakest work, but I kind of liked it. Zane and Tindwyl were wonderful additions and the ending was also intriguing enough for me to pick up the third book that is SO HYPED. And rightly so. This was much more fast paced, and there were many interesting revelations after every few chapters. Spook becoming a hero by the end was awesome!

The worldbuilding is insane, and I can't fathom how a person could come up with such a complicated and unique magic system. Brandon Sanderson is a genius. I'm thinking of reading more of the Cosmere. Would love some suggestions.

All of that being said, the one thing I couldn't shrug off was that the books are unnecessarily too long. So much of the repetitive explanations could be cut off. There are some chapters where nothing significant happens. This was the only reason my Goodreads rating was 4 stars.
