Harry Kane has agreed a new Bayern Munich contract in principle until the summer of 2029, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The England captain’s current agreement expires in 2027. Bayern is finalizing the paperwork for the extension, with Kane and his family settled in Munich after his move from Tottenham in August 2023.

Christian Falk also reports that the duration has been agreed, with image rights among the remaining details. Bayern hopes to complete the signing before the Ballon d’Or ceremony on October 26.

The development follows Kane’s comments in September that an agreement was getting close. He spoke about feeling comfortable with the coach, his teammates and the surroundings, while making clear that he wanted to keep performing at the highest level for as long as possible.

At 33, he has taken his time over the decision. Kane previously explained why he would not rush the negotiations, describing the proposed deal as potentially the last major contract of his career. Discussions had started in August, with the finer points still requiring attention.

A return to England has often been discussed because of his Premier League scoring record. Kane left with 213 goals, behind Alan Shearer’s 260, but said in August that a Premier League comeback was no longer a priority. His experience in Germany and his family’s happiness had changed how he viewed the next stage of his career.

He has won two Bundesliga titles and a German Cup with Bayern, having finished as the league’s leading scorer in each of his first three seasons. His first championship in 2025 also ended the long wait for a major team trophy.

Kane added another record in September when he reached 100 Bundesliga goals in 98 appearances. Dieter Muller had held the previous mark, needing 129 games to reach the same total.
