A few summers ago, the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Bronny James to pair him alongside his father, LeBron James. The two would go on to make some incredible NBA history together as they played their professional careers alongside each other.

However, all good things must come to an end in the world of professional sports. Bronny was left alone in Los Angeles this summer when his dad signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.

“LeBron James is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers for his final run at another NBA championship, he announced Friday," ESPN's Dave McMenamin wrote. "James, 41, is signing a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option, Klutch Sports Group CEO Rich Paul told ESPN's Shams Charania."

Many wondered what would happen with Bronny once LeBron decided to leave the Lakers organization. There was some trade speculation, and once LA went over the allowed roster limit, Bronny was brought up as a potential cut candidate.

“Clearly, the Lakers need to dump someone, and I think it's going to be one of three players," Lakers insider Jovan Buha said. "It's going to either be Dalton Knecht, Jaden Hardy, or Bronny James."

The good thing for Bronny is that it doesn’t seem like the Lakers losing LeBron will mean any of those things will happen. At media day on Monday, Bronny was asked about his feelings about not playing alongside LeBron this season. Bronny made it clear that he is excited for the new opportunities.

“It's something different for sure. I'm excited for the experience. Experience something different with him not being here and to see how the staff treats me without him being here,” Bronny said.

This is the first season that he will truly get to make a name for himself in the NBA, as he will be on his own. Bronny played meaningful minutes during the postseason in the series against the Houston Rockets, gaining valuable experience.

The Lakers are hoping that Bronny can take the next step without LeBron in his corner. The great thing is that he wants the challenges, opportunities, and experience that will come with being on his own. The enthusiasm is great to see as Bronny enters what is going to be a brand-new season for him.
