The latest behind-the-scenes detail concerns Lanterns Episode 6, which the crew originally filmed as Episode 4. “Bad Optics” takes place after a significant time jump and follows John Stewart as he returns to Rushville.
A separate camera crew post previously revealed that the team filmed an episode as Episode 7 before releasing it as Episode 5. This means the series underwent multiple changes between its original filming order and the order presented to viewers.
“Bad Optics” also features the introduction of Guy Gardner, played by Nathan Fillion. His arrival adds another Green Lantern to the story as John continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the case.
Such changes can happen for practical production reasons. Television shows may film episodes out of order because of location schedules, actor availability, set requirements, or the logistics of shooting particular sequences. The production team can then arrange the final broadcast order during post-production.
