Cats have a reputation for being a little antisocial, but really, they are just picky about their friendships.

We all know the stereotype. Cats are independent, aloof, uncaring, and purrfectly happy doing their own thing without anyone bothering them. But as cat owners, we know that's not true at all. Cats can be some of the most affectionate and loving little creatures, and they're capable of forming the sweetest bonds not just with people but with all kinds of animals. We've seen cats become best friends with dogs, even though they couldn't be more different. We've seen them cuddle with birds, befriend ducklings, and even take other, much sillier animals under their little guiding paws. All it takes to win over a cat and be chosen by them is some time, a lot of patience, and a real chance to get to know each other. Once a cat decides that you're part of their family, that's it. They might pretend to be independent, but deep down, they're just giant softies who want someone to share their nap time with.

And while we've seen plenty of unlikely animal friendships, there's something particularly adorable about a cat and a piglet growing up together. They're not exactly the first pair that comes to mind when we think of animal best friends. One is a tiny rescued feline with whiskers and a whole lot of cattitude, while the other is a little piggy rescued from a factory farm who has never known what love or life should look like at all. They come from completely different worlds, and yet, somehow, they found each other and became the sweetest little duo. They are finally happy, and we win too, because the two of them together make some of the cutest pictures we have ever seen.
