The Los Angeles Dodgers have played in the two longest games in World Series history, 18-inning marathons in Game 3 of the 2018 and 2025 Fall Classics, each ending with a walk-off home run.

Max Muncy's homer was the winner in 2018 at Dodger Stadium, while Freddie Freeman sent the fans home happy in the bottom of the 18th in 2025. Prior to the 2018, the longest World Series game in history was 14 innings, which had occurred three times.

While Major League Baseball's regular season rules have changed to begin extra innings with a runner on second base, that's not the case in the playoffs and World Series.
