This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was refurbished and modified under current ownership with the installation of a 7.0-liter LS7 V8 linked to a Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential as well as a lowered suspension and widened fenders and quarter panels. The car was refinished in blue over black leather and features 18″ and 20″ Ridler wheels, Wilwood power four-wheel disc brakes, Flaming River rack-and-pinion power steering, QA1 adjustable coilovers, side-exit exhaust, Detroit Speed electric headlight motors, LED lighting, Vintage Air climate control, power windows, a multi-camera rearview mirror, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo. The car was previously registered in Pennsylvania and was acquired by the seller in 2021. This modified C2 is now offered in Canada with Ontario registration.
The fiberglass body was fitted with aftermarket widebody front fenders and rear quarter panels before being refinished in blue. The split chrome bumperettes were re-plated, and additional work included installing quad LED headlights with a Detroit Speed electric motor system as well as LED taillights, a power-retractable antenna, dual side-exit exhaust pipes with factory-style covers, and a replacement side mirror, weatherstripping, emblems, and door handles.
Chrome-finished Ridler 606 wheels measure 18″ in diameter up front and 20″ at the rear and are mounted with 265/35 front and 285/35 rear Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. The car rides on a lowered suspension featuring QA1 two-way adjustable coilovers and an oversized QA1 front sway bar up front and an independent rear with Van Steel offset trailing arms, QA1 two-way adjustable shocks, and an Addco sway bar. Braking is handled by a Wilwood power-assisted four-wheel disc system featuring a dual-chamber chrome master cylinder, six-piston front calipers, four-piston rear calipers, and drilled and slotted rotors. Replacement wheel bearings, seals, hydraulic brake lines, and parking brake cables were installed during the chassis overhaul. Flaming River power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering conversion was also completed.
The bucket seats are reupholstered in black leather, and the carpeting, floor mats, kick panels, rear filler panels, headliner, sun visors, and bright trim and fixtures were replaced. Appointments include a Vintage Air climate control system, power windows, lap belts, a center console, cupholders, a rearview camera mirror, and a Vintage Car Audio KHE-300 Bluetooth-capable stereo paired with aftermarket speakers.
An aftermarket steering wheel is mounted on a telescopic column ahead of Intellitronix instrumentation. The digital odometer shows 1,035 miles, which is said to represent the mileage since the build was completed.
The 7.0-liter dry-sump LS7 V8 was installed in 2024 and features a GM E38 ECU, drive-by-wire throttle control, an in-tank Holley electric fuel pump, an aftermarket baffled fuel tank, and an aluminum DeWitts radiator with an electric cooling fan. Custom-tagged wiring harnesses were installed throughout the engine compartment and dashboard, and an OBD-II diagnostic port is located beneath the dash.
A Silver Sport Transmissions Tremec TKX five-speed wide-ratio manual transmission was installed along with a Corvette Z06-specification clutch, a Wilwood hydraulic master and slave cylinder assembly, an offset Silver Sport shifter with a factory-style C2 handle, and a heavy-duty driveshaft. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt Positraction differential. The frame is said to have been media-blasted before being epoxied, internally coated, and refinished in black
