A 37-year-old man faces multiple charges following alleged assaults aboard TTC buses in Scarborough in recent days.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a call for an assault on Thursday at approximately 5:20 p.m. in the McCowan Rd. and Alton Towers Circle area.

It is alleged that a man was on board a bus travelling south on McCowan Rd. when he assaulted another passenger. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the assailant fled the area before cops arrived but was located nearby and arrested.

According to police, the victim and suspect are not known to each other and the assault was unprovoked.

Following an investigation, police said officers determined the suspect was also wanted for multiple assaults on a bus in Scarborough.

Cops allege the same man was on board a TTC bus Wednesday, travelling on Midland Ave. between Silver Star Blvd. and Huntingwood Dr., when he assaulted four passengers.

The man got off the bus and fled the area before officers arrived.

The victims and suspect are not known to each other and those assaults were also unprovoked, police said. The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Michael Ye, of no fixed address, is charged with five counts of assault.

Man injured in Malvern shooting

Toronto Police are investigating after man was injured by gunfire in Scarborough’s Malvern community Friday night.

Police said on social media that emergency services responded to a shooting call at around 9:20 p.m. in the Neilson Rd. and Wickson Trail area, north of Sheppard Ave. E.

The male victim was located and transported to hospital via emergency run.

In a later update , police said the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police said a description of the suspect wasn’t available and the investigation remains ongoing.

Stabbing in Willowdale send man to hospital

A man was injured in a stabbing Friday evening in Willowdale.

Toronto Police said on social media that emergency services responded to a stabbing call at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the Yonge St. and McKee Ave. area, south of Finch Ave.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, cops said.

A description of the suspect wasn’t available and the investigation remains ongoing, police added.

Cops seek suspicious person in Brampton

Police are investigating an incident Wednesday afternoon in Brampton after an unknown individual approached a child walking home.

Peel Regional Police said, between 3:30 p.m. and 3:55 p.m., the child was walking in the area of Flamingo Cres. and Forsythia Rd., near Queen St. E. and Torbram Rd., when they were approached from behind by an unknown male.

Following a brief physical interaction, police said the youth was able to disengage and leave the area, and no physical injuries were reported.

The male was last seen walking eastbound on Forsythia Rd. toward Folkstone Cres., cops said.

The suspect is described as South Asian, 25 to 30 years old and approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build and straight, medium-length black hair that touches his ears. He was wearing a black cloth face mask covering the lower portion of his face, a white T-shirt and long brown pants.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam, home or other video surveillance from the area at the time of the incident to contact police.

The investigation remains ongoing, cops added.
