Manchester United are considering a move to sign Ivan Toney from Al-Ahli to ease the club’s centre-forward issues.
Benjamin Sesko has been ruled out until January with an ongoing shin issue, with the Slovenian striker yet to start a Premier League game this season. Bryan Mbeumo has featured through the middle as an alternative, with United lacking recognised options.
As a result, United are assessing options for January. CaughtOffside claim Toney is on the club’s radar, after a move for Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was deemed unrealistic.
The former Brentford forward has scored 83 goals in 105 games since a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia in 2024, and has twice won the AFC Champions League with Al-Ahli. He’s understood to be happy in the Saudi Pro League, but would consider a Premier League return for the right offer.
The 30-year-old has previously attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, though a massive contract in Saudi Arabia complicates a return to England. Toney reportedly earns a tax-free base salary of around £400,000 at Al-Ahli.
