The film holds a 52% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. One reviewer described it as “a mess of a thing,” while another deemed it “as crass and morally repugnant as any movie made this year.” Moviegoers responded far more positively, awarding it an 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a B+ grade on CinemaScore.
Wahlberg earns an estimated $20 to $25 million per streaming project, according to Forbes. His recent direct-to-streaming efforts like Play Dirty and The Family Plan 2 drew viewers but failed to impress critics. His status as a household name still pulls substantial streaming audiences across Netflix, Amazon, and Apple. By Any Means could find redemption once it transitions to a streaming platform.
