A fascinating coaching matchup awaits in Chapel Hill when Mario Cristobal leads No. 1 Miami against six-time Super Bowl champion head coach Bill Belichick and North Carolina.
The Hurricanes (7-0, 5-0 in ACC) can improve to 8-0 for the second time in three years with a win tonight, setting up next week's highly anticipated showdown with Notre Dame. Belichick's primary goal will be containing Malachi Toney, who broke his own program record with 16 receptions in a 194-yard, three-touchdown effort in last week's 52-23 win over Pitt.
Year 2 under Belichick has seen controversy with the resignation of GM Michael Lombardi and defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, but the Tar Heels (4-3, 2-2) have already matched last year's win total. It's the third straight week Miami's wounded secondary faces one of the conference's best wide receivers, as Jordan Shipp enters with 543 yards and TDs in back-to-back games.
