One of Mike Flanagan‘s best horror movies is coming to Netflix today. The supernatural psychological horror movie also stars Brenton Thwaites, who played Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing in DC’s Titans show (the god-awful series that somehow managed to run for three seasons).
The horror flick Oculus stars Thwaites as Tim and Karen Gillan as Kaylie. While it is releasing on the streaming giant on September 24, 2026, the movie originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013 before its wide theatrical release in April 2014.
Per Netflix Tudum, the official synopsis of the film reads, “Now young adults, Tim and Kaylie are still trying to recover from—and get to the bottom of—their parents’ deaths more than a decade later.”

The film brings forth a chilling story about two siblings convinced that an antique mirror is responsible for their family’s tragic past. The R-rated film currently holds a 75% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.
In Oculus, Gillan plays the character of Kaylie Russell, a driven, obsessive young woman convinced that an antique supernatural mirror, the Lasser Glass, was responsible for her parents’ deaths and psychological deterioration when she and her brother, Tim Russell (Thwaites), were children.
Meanwhile, Gillan and Thwaites are joined by Katee Sackhoff as Marie Russell, Rory Cochrane as Alan Russell, Annalise Basso as 12-year-old Kaylie Russell, Garrett Ryan Ewald as 10-year-old Tim Russell, James Lafferty as Michael Dumont, Miguel Sandoval as Dr. Graham, Kate Siegel as Marisol Chavez, and Justin Gordon as Mark.
Oculus is now streaming on Netflix.
