This 1997 Dodge Ram 2500HD Laramie SLT 4×4 is a ¾-ton pickup that was the subject of a multi-year build started around 2006 and is said to total nearly $80k. It included fitting the 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six with a compound turbocharger kit, a BorgWarner turbocharger, a Colt Cams camshaft, a Turbonetics Spearco intercooler, and a FASS fuel system, bringing the output to approximately 801 horsepower and 1,735 lb-ft of torque. The engine is linked with a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential. The truck was ordered with over $8k in options, and other details include a red-finished tonneau cover, a BedRug carpeted bedliner, Bilstein shocks, 16″ American Racing AR-26 Saw Blade wheels, and aftermarket auxiliary gauges. This Ram 2500 is now offered in New York by the selling dealer at no reserve with a window sticker, the data plate, the equipment sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, a damage-free Carfax report, and a clean Ohio title.

The 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline-six underwent modifications beginning circa 2006 including a compound turbocharger kit, a ported and polished cylinder head, a Colt Cams Stage 3 “Big Stick” camshaft, a TST air-fuel spring kit, a 4k-rpm governor spring kit, a Turbonetics Spearco intercooler, a FASS fuel system, and the following:

  • TST power kit
  • Three-piece exhaust manifold
  • Banks Power PowerPack system
  • Banks Power BigHead wastegate actuator
  • Banks Power TwinRam air-intake system
  • Flex-A-Lite dual electric radiator fans

In April 2012 at a cost of over $11k, engine work was performed followed by an engine overhaul in September of that year totaling over another $11k. It included boring the cylinder block, installing a polished crankshaft and XHD head studs, and replacing the main and rod bearings. A BorgWarner turbocharger was fitted in September 2025, and the rear main seal, radiator, and fuel injectors were replaced in June 2026.

The results of a September 2012 dynamometer test are displayed above, and a dynamometer data sheet displayed in the gallery below notes a peak output of approximately 801 horsepower and 1,735 lb-ft of torque.

The truck was finished from the factory in Flame Red Clearcoat (PR4), and various paintwork was performed between 2007 and 2014, at which time body repairs were made. Exterior details include a red-finished tonneau cover, a BedRug carpeted bedliner, a receiver hitch, a sliding rear window, roof clearance lights, aftermarket side steps, and window tint. The bed was replaced in July 2012.

The truck rides on Bilstein shocks, aftermarket springs, and 16″ American Racing AR-26 Saw Blade wheels. The latter of which were recently sand-blasted and powder-coated black, and they are mounted with 305/70 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT tires that were installed in July 2026, at which time the left-inner axle seal was replaced. The right-front wheel hub assembly and front upper and lower ball joints were replaced in August 2026.

The 40/20/40 bench seat is upholstered in Camel leather, and the cabin features body-color accents. Rubber mats line the footwells, and options include an AM/FM/CD stereo with a graphic equalizer along with remote keyless entry. Further interior details include an AFC Live kit, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an Infinity sound system, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows and locks.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Banks DynaFact and AutoMeter gauges for oil temperature, exhaust gas temperature, and boost pressure are mounted to the left A-pillar. The six-digit odometer shows 12k miles, which is said to represent the distanced covered since the build was completed. The Carfax report shows multiple readings higher than that number along with mileage inconsistencies in March and July of 2026. The current Ohio title also has a mileage reading higher than the current odometer displays. The selling dealer states that the mileage is not accurate, and total mileage is unknown.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential, the former of which is a replacement unit that was installed in May 2012. The truck has a Trans-Cool transmission cooler system, and underside and suspension components have been painted red. The exhaust system was replaced in June 2026.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Robke-Ginn Chrysler of Carrollton, Kentucky, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $33,305. The data plate, equipment sticker, and owner’s manual are included in the sale along with service records.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage. It also lists the aforementioned mileage inconsistency entries.

The Ohio title carries an “Actual” notation under the Mileage Notation section.
