As a shopping writer, there are few times when I’m actually repurchasing makeup, typically trying a revolving door of new products instead. But, there’s one beauty item that I use until the very last drop and immediately re-order: Charlotte Tilbury’s Big Lip Plumpgasm. It’s the perfect plumping lip gloss that gets me endless compliments. I recently attended a Charlotte Tilbury masterclass hosted by Amazon, where we got to try tons of OG and new products while re-creating Christina Aguilera’s holiday campaign glam, taught by makeup artist Alex Rutkovskiy. While there were so many exciting products that I tried, I wanted to spotlight the ones on sale (so you can get the most bang for your buck and stock up on holiday gifts), plus share Rutkovskiy’s application tips to get the prettiest, glowiest glam this season.

Charlotte Tilbury offers a holiday cracker kit filled with the brand’s most popular Pillow Talk shade products, including the Beauty Light Wand, Lip Cheat liner, and Plumpgasm. “Pillow Talk started as one shade of lipstick,” Rutkovskiy explained, joking: “Charlotte selfishly created her personal lip color. And it’s the number one bestseller in the world.” Today, Pillow Talk has multiple iterations so everyone can enjoy it: Fair, Original, Medium, and Deep.

And right now, this makeup set is selling for under $25 on Amazon in both Pillow Talk and Super Nude, making it a great beauty kit refresh and even better stocking stuffer.

For the highlighter, which comes in seven shades (all on sale!), Rutkovskiy likes applying it to his hand first and warming it up with a brush. He then adds it to the high points of the face, like the cheekbones, nose, cupid’s bow, and chin before applying extra product with his fingertips. “It helps to layer it. It looks very healthy and glowy with more dimension. Charlotte is the queen of the glow, so we love a glowing face.” (He also called out how influencers complain about the packaging exploding in their makeup bags and purses, but that there’s a simple open-and-close twist applicator. The more you know!)

The kit also features the ultimate lip combo, IMO: Lip Cheat and Plumpgasm. Rutkovskiy taught us Charlotte Tilbury’s signature heart-shaped lip, first over-lining the cupid’s bow and center of the bottom lip. Then, you can connect the sides of your lips from the corners to the center for a lifting effect, rather than dragging down your lips.

We also applied the brand’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk with a lip brush, which isn’t so much of a requirement for me. While that lip product isn’t on sale on Amazon, the creamier K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick is if you want an Aguilera-esque pout.

And the final step was my Holy Grail (aka lip gloss). Speaking on Plumpgasm, Rutkovskiy said: “There’s people who hate plumping glosses and people who are obsessed with them, and there’s no one in the middle.” He added: “It’s such a beautiful formula, which combines heat and cool ingredients, so there’s pepper and mint. It’s cold and hot at the same time. And it plumps your lips in the first three minutes.” Rutkovskiy predominantly keeps the gloss at the center of the lips for extra dimension, but I definitely dowse my lips in the spicy, juicy formula, especially for late-night plans and holiday parties.
