Netflix has dropped a new trailer for its popular Cyberpunk anime sequel ahead of the show’s premiere later this month. Titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the show is a standalone sequel to the original 2022 series, which holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new standalone 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077— a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, what extremes do you have to go to make your story matter?” reads the show’s official synopsis.

What happens in the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 trailer? The trailer opens with Roman Carax, a young cinephile, filming Talia Yang as she leaps through the air. In the background, he asks, “You are still mostly ‘ganic. Why?” It then introduces D, who reflects on the people he has lost, saying, “They’re all still here. They come to me in my dreams, asking for help. But I never can.”
Weak Kingsley, a veteran edgerunner known as a King, then appears to connect with Talia, telling her, “Got more in common than you think. Know exactly what’s been going through your mind.” Talia rejects the suggestion, responding, “We have nothing in common.”
In one scene, D injects himself with a red object he removes from what appears to be a dead person. The trailer then cuts to a montage of eerie scenes accompanied by fast-paced music. Many of the scenes appear to be filmed through Roman’s camera. The trailer also teases flashbacks exploring Talia’s past as the daughter of Avida and Kiril Yang.
The English voice cast includes Valeria Rodriguez for Carax, Daniel Wu for Kiril, Kimoy Lee for Talia, Clancy Brown for Kingsley, and Nazeeh Tarsha for D.
The series comes from creator Rafał Jaki, while Kai Ikarashi directs it. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will arrive on Netflix on October 20.
