KPop Demon Hunters enters Netflix’s top 10 movies in US

According to FlixPatrol, KPop Demon Hunters has returned to Netflix’s U.S. top 10 movies, joining titles such as Surviving Hurricane Otis, Champions, Animals, Hollywood Dirt, Twilight and The Breadwinner.

Behind the mic, KPop Demon Hunters brings together a star-studded voice cast to power its supernatural K-pop adventure. Directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans follow HUNTR/X trio Rumi, Mira and Zoey as they juggle chart-topping ambitions with a secret mission to hunt demons.

Arden Cho voices Rumi, May Hong plays Mira, and Ji-young Yoo brings Zoey to life. The lineup also features Ahn Hyo-seop, Yunjin Kim, Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Lee Byung-hun. Sony Pictures Animation teamed up with Netflix to bring the musical to the screen.

KPop Demon Hunters has struck a chord with both critics and fans. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 92% critics’ rating and a near-perfect 99% audience score, while IMDb users have rated it 7.4 out of 10. Its colorful animation and high-energy musical sequences have won over many. However, the soundtrack is the real earworm, keeping audiences hooked long after the credits roll.

Fans also liked the story’s message about hiding shame, trauma, or identity behind a picture-perfect public image. Beneath the flashy performances and demon-hunting action, the story delivers a message of self-acceptance.

KPop Demon Hunters became a streaming powerhouse. The film racked up more than 325 million views in a short time, securing its place as the platform’s most-watched English-language movie. Its sing-along theatrical run brought in roughly $24.6 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. The movie was made on a reported $100 million budget.
