Trailmark Games has officially launched an expanded edition of its arcade action title for TMNT fans. First announced last week, the upgraded version titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants has been released for the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4, 2026.
TMNT: Wrath of the Mutants Ninja Edition adds several performance improvements and exclusive characters. It also adds new playable characters in the form of Master Splinter and Casey Jones. The updated release also features three new stages and six additional boss encounters compared to the original 2017 arcade release.

New characters, improved performance, and more ways to play togetherThe Ninja Edition of the game renders at 1080p in handheld and 4K resolution in docked mode. It also uses the Switch 2’s vibrant screen by supporting HDR. Other improvements include 60 FPS for performance and faster loading times compared to its previous version. Graphical fidelity has also been improved with new reflection effects, anti-aliasing, enhanced lighting, and dynamic shadows.
As seen in the trailer, both new characters have completely different play styles, adding more depth to the fighting game’s mechanics. Fans have been requesting the addition of Master Splinter and Casey Jones for years. The game was originally released on PC and consoles in 2024 to mixed reception.
Those wanting more of the TMNT games can look forward to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2, which will be released next year. Another TMNT game, Splintered Fate, also received a major update last month.
Digital copies of the TMNT: Wrath of the Mutants Ninja Edition are available now on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99. Physical editions and international digital releases in Europe and Australia will follow next month on October 9, 2026.
