- Nothing has started rolling out the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update to the Phone 3, making it the company’s first phone to receive Android 17.
- The update adds a redesigned Launcher, split Quick Settings and notifications, new widgets, camera upgrades, deeper customization, and several Android 17 features.
- The rollout is staggered, so availability will vary by region and device.
Nothing laid out a pretty clear Android 17 roadmap when it unveiled Nothing OS 5.0 in August. The Phone 3 would lead the charge with an Open Beta, while the stable release was penciled in for mid-October. Right on cue, the company is now making good on that promise, with the Phone 3 becoming the first Nothing handset to receive the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update.
Nothing says the general release is now rolling out to Phone 3 users, although it is being distributed in stages, so availability will vary by region and device. You can check manually by heading to Settings > System > System update. The update weighs 2.84GB for non-beta users, while beta users see a roughly 1.68GB download, according to rollout screenshots circulating on social media.
