Enyimba chairman, Kanu Nwankwo, has appealed for support from the club’s supporters following the team’s poor to the season.
The People’s Elephant were stunned 1-0 by newcomers Inter Lagos at Enyimba International Stadium, Aba on Sunday.
Enyimba have lost all three league matches this season, sitting bottom of the log.
The nine-time champions also managed to maintain their top-flight status on the final day of last season.
Emmanuel Deutsch’s side will host Sporting Lagos in a matchday five encounter on Wednesday hoping to get their campaign back on track.
Kanu urged the fans not to relent in supporting the team.
“The times have not been most favourable. We understand the weight of the disappointing loses and we are determined to make things right,” Kanu wrote in a statement on the club’s official X account.
“In the rain, you came out to support us against Inter Lagos. Though it did go our way, you supported us till the final minute, and we can not take your support for granted.
“We implore you to stand with us as we wriggle our way out of this labyrinth.
“Next for us is the home game against Sporting Lagos on Wednesday as we seek our first win of the season. A win can be a propeller.
“We are used to victories and we are proud of that culture. Come cheer us to victory as we kick off a resurgence. We will get it right.”
