The NYPD urged people to avoid a busy Times Square intersection Monday afternoon as officers investigated a police-involved shooting.

Police warned the public to avoid West 43rd Street and Seventh Avenue and expect delays in the surrounding area.

The NYPD confirmed to Fox News Digital that a police-involved shooting had happened, but provided no additional details.

Police sources told Fox 5 New York that two people were reportedly stabbed before the alleged attacker, described as a woman, was confronted by NYPD officers.

The woman was reportedly receiving CPR following the confrontation, according to the outlet.

A witness claimed on social media that a woman was "running around stabbing people." A video posted to social media showed a woman wielding what appeared to be a knife. She appeared to approach a group of police officers with the knife and was shot.

It was not immediately clear whether any NYPD officers were injured during the incident.
