A stretch of Hwy. 401 in Scarborough had been closed on Thursday morning due to a police investigation, Ontario Provincial Police said on X.
All eastbound express lanes were shut down at Neilson Rd. around 7 a.m., about an hour after emergency crews were called to the scene.
Further east at Morningside Ave., in the eastbound express lanes, two left lanes were blocked while one left lane in the westbound express was also blocked, OPP added in an update on X.

The OPP says the closure could last until at least 10 a.m.
Motorists should expect significant delays in the area and are advised to plan alternate routes.
