It’s the Super Bowl all over again for Drake Maye and the New England Patriots. During the Super Bowl earlier this year, the Seattle Seahawks’ defense had Maye and the Pats’ offense in a blender. After making a ton of moves this offseason, New England was hoping to get a different result in their rematch against the defending champions.

Instead, Maye is starting to crumble and fall apart again. In the third quarter, the Patriots had the Seahawks on the ropes. Holding a 10-3 lead, Maye was in the redzone with a chance to put points on the board. Instead, Nehemiah Pritchett punished Maye’s decision to throw into double coverage, tipping his pass and coming up with the pick.

The Seahawks would tie the game after a touchdown from Jaxon Smith-Njigba. In the ensuing drive, the Patriots found themselves at 3rd and 14 in their own territory after a tackle for loss and a brutal drop from Romeo Doubs. Maye forced a throw that floated a tad too much, allowing Julian Love to make the play and pick off another pass.
