People from outside the U.S., are you all dealing with a literary crisis among children as well?

I saw some comments around social media pertaining to this topic saying that they too are dealing with children being unable to focus or read, and I was just curious to learn of how far this has gotten globally. The U.S. has always had issues with literacy and intellectualism, but I don‘t believe it has gotten THIS bad to this large of a degree. I’m assuming if other countries are dealing with the same thing, it‘s probably to a lesser degree, but social media addiction is everywhere (yes, I do believe that this, and COVID, were a big contributor to all of this) so I don’t know.
